Bocada Prism Sees Version Update

Data protection management software developer Bocada Inc. has improved features of its Bocada Prism data protection service management solution. According to the company, Bocada Prism has improved trending analysis and deployment integration capabilities.
The newest version of Bocada Prism adds five trending reports aimed at helping users understand data protection activity over time. In addition, performance improvements have been added for rendering reports on large data sets.
Prism features enhanced trending functionality with trend reporting added to the Health Check and Problem Management areas. Users can now access the following reports:
- Backup Trends—This report enables users to view the amount of data being backed up during a givien period, which is useful in policy management, load balancing, and storage planning.
- Backup Duration Trends—Users can compare static backup windows with backup duration trends with this report.
- Media Usage Trends—This report helps SMBs analyze the impact of backup trends on their media volumes over time. †This report is instrumental in helping to load balance media resources.
- Occupancy Trends—Storage changes over time, and this report enables users to view those changes and predict future storage needs.
- Error Trends—Backup administrators can use this report to see error count trending, which helps to identify chronic problems.
