Tripp Lite Intros Small, IP-Capable Console Servers
The compact console servers are designed for use in sites with limited equipment space, like VoIP closets and sales kiosks.
Two new compact, IP-capable console servers were rolled out by Tripp Lite this past week. Equipped with three and four RJ45 serial ports, the company says the console servers are designed for use in sites with limited equipmen
t space.
“They give network managers low-cost, highly secure access from any location to all of their network- and serial-connected devices and power infrastructures,” states Tripp Lite of its new console servers in a press release submitted to EH Publishing.
“The new Compact IP Console Servers create a single point of immediate access for complete system management,” adds John White, Tripp Lite’s connectivity specialist, “and they are an invaluable tool in system maintenance and disaster recovery.”
White says the console servers are “ideal for use in places where space is tight and where it is impractical to keep IT staff.”
Some of the features built into the console servers include:
- Out-of-Band (Modem) Connection–This enables communication, system monitoring, and troubleshooting between remote sites.
- Embedded Temperature Sensors–These provide environmental information from off-site locations.
- Small Form Factor–Desigend to meet integration needs for VoIP closets, sales kiosks. and other limited-space locations.
- RJ45 or DB9 Serial Port Compatible–The compact console servers are compatible with such devices as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, UPS systems, etc.
