New Certification for MSPs
Individual certification tests individuals on the fundamentals of managed services professionalism, ethical behavior, and IT security.
In an effort to safeguard the integrity and organic growth of the burgeoning managed service provider (MSP) industry, Chico, Calif.-based MSPAlliance will be launching a certification standard for individuals employed in the managed IT services industry. The Managed Services Professional Certificate will be formally launched at MSPWorld in Orlando, Fla., on April 30, 2009.†
“Just as the Managed Services Accreditation Program exam has become the de facto standard of excellence in the managed services world, so do we believe the Managed Services Professional Certification will also become an accepted standard [among] individuals in our profession.” says Jim Swoyer, president and CEO of Data Device and an MSPAlliance board member.
“The Managed Services designation will be available to individuals who wish to demonstrate high levels of professionalism and accountability in their careers,” says Mark Scott, CEO of The Utility Company and a member of the accreditation/standards committee. “By focusing on the individual certification, we now will be able to effectively communicate trust and professionalism to the end-user community.”
Additional details about the certification will be made available at the MSPWorld event. Anyone wishing to take the exam should contact info@mspalliance.com.
