CRU-DataPort Unveils Data Security and Data Storage Solutions
The new solutions include RAID, data encryption, and digital forensics tools.
CRU-DataPort announces five new data security and data storage products, including hardware-based encryption, a portable RAID storage enclosure, and write-blocked forensic tools.
The new DataPort 10 Secure features hardware-based encryption for protecting sensitive data on a computer’s hard drive. It has a rugged enclosure that enables the drive to be removed, or hot swapped, for data backup, transporting, and archiving. A government-approved AES 128 high-speed encryption processor secures the contents of the drive without affecting computer performance, according to the company.
The Portable DataRAID PDR610 is a high-performance iSCSI storage enclosure that can handle up to 9 terabytes of data, while a built-in RAID controller ensures the data’s integrity. A rugged carrying handle makes the mini data center portable and a dual gigabit Ethernet interface ensures high-speed access, making the PDR610 appropriate for disaster recovery, digital media archiving, and Pro A/V editing. Six drive bays have vibration-resistant removable drive carriers with quiet fans and patented drive-cooling technology.
WiebeTech, a brand of CRU-DataPort, is unveiling three new products for the government market:
The Forensic RTX is a portable storage enclosure that allows investigators to examine 3.5-inch IDE/PATA or SATA drives in write-blocked bays and copy data onto SATA drives, both in the lab or out in the field. A quad-interface (eSATA, FireWire 800/400 and USB) enables users to analyze evidence or image drives from any host system.
The new RedPort SAS is a PCI card that adds write-blocked ports to a Windows or Linux computer while forensically protecting the contents of an attached SAS/SATA device. Standard SATA cables provide up to 3Gb/s speeds.
The RTX400-QR is a portable storage enclosure featuring four TrayFree bays, a high-speed quad interface, and RAID 5 for data protection. Available pre-configured for Mac or Windows in 2TB and 4TB configurations, the RTX400-QR is unique, says the company, because of its small size and portability in relation to its large storage capacity and multiple interface options.
