HP Rolls Managed Services for Hybrid Workforces into DaaS Offering

Sold and delivered exclusively by HP itself at present, rather than partners, HP DaaS+ Hybrid combines direct delivery of PCs to homes and offices with ongoing remote performance management and security configuration.

HP has introduced an enhanced version of its desktop-as-a-service offering that combines subscription-based device procurement, delivery, repair, and disposal with accompanying managed services.

Called HP DaaS+ Hybrid and available now in the U.S. and parts of Europe, the new package is designed to make supporting hybrid employees with work-from-anywhere expectations simpler. Some two-thirds of organizations use or will adopt some form of hybrid work, according to Forrester.

At present, DaaS+ Hybrid is sold and delivered exclusively by HP directly to end users, rather than through channel partners.

HP began selling DaaS subscriptions some six years ago. DaaS+ Hybrid supplements the earlier service’s device lifecycle management with ongoing remote performance management based on telemetry insights and automation from HP’s TechPulse platform, according to Sumeer Chandra, general manager and global head of the vendor’s Personal Systems Services group.

“With employees working from home there is now accompanying need to take a holistic view of the digital workplace and manage it in a way that optimizes device performance and experience regardless of their location,” he says.

The service provides automated remediation of performance-related problems, along with device fleet health and AI-based employee sentiment data. Remote security configuration management is included as well.

“The traditional security architecture that relies on network systems and firewalls to restrict access and ensure devices are up to date is no longer sufficient,” Chandra says. “With DaaS+ Hybrid, our service experts can monitor an organization’s device security posture from anywhere and help keep devices compliant and up to date.”

Subscribers can have preconfigured devices delivered straight to an employee’s home. The service comes with next business day repair and return for malfunctioning hardware as well. Optional add-ons include HP’s Adaptive Endpoint Management and managed print services, as well as Presence Insights, a predictive analytics service designed to anticipate when PCs will fail.

Pricing for the entire package is based on per user, per month charges.

Chandra described DaaS+ Hybrid as a resource for identifying and replacing PCs incompatible with Windows 11, noting that Microsoft will discontinue support for Windows 10 in October 2025. Research from Nexthink suggests that some 60% of Windows-based workstations are currently incompatible with Windows 11.

DaaS+ Hybrid is the first in a portfolio of managed services from HP, according to Chandra, who says the company will bring its legacy DaaS service under the new DaaS+ umbrella in the coming months.

HP highlighted services as a major opportunity for itself and its partners during its recent Amplify Executive Forum event. The company introduced a subscription-based ink replenishment service during that show as well.
