The 13- through 16-inch devices, which include new 14-inch 2-in-1s, come with latest-generation AMD and Intel processors as well as features like enhanced microphones and cameras with improved low-light resolution for better video collaboration. By Rich Freeman

The Inspiron 13 is available today for $599 and up. The 14-inch and 15-inch models both ship in North America on May 4th for $549.99 and up.

All of the Inspiron systems unveiled today, Terwilliger notes, come with features that reflect the increased importance of video collaboration and remote education in the last year, including enhanced microphones and cameras with improved low-light resolution.

Dell’s latest client devices arrive at a time of continued robust demand for new PCs across the industry, despite ongoing chip shortages and a giant buying wave in 2020 fueled by the coronavirus pandemic. Global sales of PCs climbed 32% on an annualized basis to 69.9 million in the first quarter of 2021, according to Gartner figures published yesterday.

Dell’s sales figures are similarly robust. The company shipped over 52 million PCs in the past year, which comes out to 1.65 a second, according to Rahul Tikoo, senior vice president and general manager of Dell’s Client Product Group.

“No one could have said it any better,” he declares, quoting a recent tweet by Michael Dell. “More dudes than ever are getting a Dell.”
