Also announced today were two additions to Dell’s Precision portfolio of mobile workstations. The Dell Precision 3540 packs 4-core Intel Core 8th generation processors, up to 32GB of DDR4 memory, AMD Radeon Pro graphics with 2GB of dedicated memory, and 2TB of storage. Available immediately, it lists at $799 and above. According to Dell, that makes it the company’s most affordable mobile workstation to date.
Available late in May, the new Dell Precision 3541 is a more powerful and bigger 15.6-inch device equipped with 9th generation 8-core Intel Core and 6-core Intel Xeon processor options, as well as NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics with 4GB of dedicated memory. Pricing has yet to be announced.
Both models, Dell says, are optimized for portability, with the Precision 3540 weighing in at 4.04 pounds and the Precision 3541 starting at 4.34 pounds. The two products will each include Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, optional fingerprint and smartcard readers, an IR camera, and Dell’s first privacy shutter.
In addition to the new cloud-based workspace solution, Dell introduced a new hybrid cloud infrastructure platform at Dell Technologies World as well.
