CloudJumper Expands Management Team With Senior Level Appointments

Drew Walz Promoted to Chief Technology Officer and Michael Walsh Named Chief Operating Officer

CloudJumper, a leading Workspace as a Service (WaaS) platform innovator for agile business IT, announced new executive team appointments. The company has named Drew Walz, formerly the director of platform architects, to the position of chief technology officer (CTO) where he will oversee product/services strategy and development. Michael Walsh, formerly with IndependenceIT, now holds the post of chief operating officer (COO) for CloudJumper, leading operations as demand for Cloud Workspace Management Suite software and services accelerates.

With more than 18 years in the business and the first to simplify the delivery and management of cloud-based workspaces for IT service provider delivery, CloudJumper has earned a reputation for leadership in unified workspace delivery and management. Recognized in Gartner’s Unified Workspace “Cool Vendor” reports for 2017 and 2018, the company’s achievements are extensive and include the acquisition of IndependenceIT; delivery of the company’s next generation Cloud Workspace Management Suite (CWMS) and services platform, and the introduction of Streaming App Services in mid-2018.

Drew Walz has an esteemed history with CloudJumper where he has focused his efforts over the past 16 years. Prior to his new position as CTO, he was director of platform architects for the company and responsible for overseeing advanced platform integrations to enable the CloudJumper’s Workspace as a Service offering. Mr. Walz also held several positions with the organization’s family of companies, serving as director of system architects and focusing on the design and implementation of complex multi-tenant application and desktop hosting environments. Before that, he held the posts of senior application engineer and technology integration specialist, where he was responsible for new product design and implementation. With extensive experience and a long history with the organization, his new role as CTO will position Walz to advance the company within the rapidly expanding market.

CloudJumper COO Michael Walsh joined CloudJumper after the acquisition of IndependenceIT where he also served as chief operating officer for nearly two years. Before IndependenceIT, Walsh held the position of chief information officer for OmniEarth and also served as vice president of product management for IRISmaps and Envista. He also served in the role of director of information technology for AppIQ early in his career.

“We intend to expand and strengthen our position in the category as more IT service providers and the organizations they support leverage software and services platforms powered by CloudJumper,” said company CEO, JD Helms. “We are very pleased to have these industry veterans on-board as we continue our focus of delivering superior solutions to customers. Today’s announcement reinforces our mission of aligning with talent that takes the company to the next level.”
