Buckle Up: ASCII Off to a Fast Start in 2013

ASCII kicked off an expanded annual slate of its live events last week in the Los Angeles area, and if the energy level and attendance at the event is a sign of things to come, it should be an amazing year for the 29-year-old association of channel partners.

Held at the Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa Marriott in Dana Point, Calif., the event drew more than 30 sponsors spanning tech vendors, associations, and distributors as well as 150+ attendees.

With eight shows on the docket this year, ASCII is going to some new cities for its events. “Members in both Texas and Indianapolis were the deciding factor in looking at expanding the event schedule this year," explains Jerry Koutavas, President of ASCII. "We feel those markets will benefit greatly from the business-building activities and sales training content our event provides.”

“The convenience of seeing various technical demonstrations and meeting directly with potential solution partners and peers---basically in their backyard---will be a great benefit to our members in those areas,” adds Koutavas.

ASCII's membership has been growing over the years and the organization continues to expand its offerings to members. “Based on what our members are requesting, we continue to build out new marketing and lead-generation services to complement the existing back-office programs our members are using today,” says Jean Alexander, VP Business Development for ASCII. “We have several upcoming announcements to the group specific to lead generation that will help round out the current list of marketing services that are available, including a custom monthly newsletter and an automated social media posting service.”

Each event features a pre-day training activity; each main day event wraps up with awards voted on by attendees. Last week's winners were:
