ATEN, a KVM switch manufacturer, has launched the ATEN KN1000 KVM Over the NET, an all-in-one, hardware-based control unit that provides KVM over IP, remote power and serial console management, and virtual media functionality. The KN1000 enables users to monitor and access computers from remote locations using a Web browser, offering remote kiosk management and support.
The KN1000 allows for the remote access and management of widely distributed multiple computer installations, including self-service kiosks in movie theaters, airports, and supermarkets, as well as ATMs, retail environments, factory automation, and unmanned remote sites. The built-in power outlet provides remote power management, and users can configure network switches and other serial control devices through the KN1000’s serial console functionality. The virtual media functionality enables users to perform diagnostic testing, file transformer, and OS and application patches.
