TrippLite’s PANSA Is Now Compatible with Mac OS X
The latest release of the PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent enables Mac users to monitor an SNMP-capable device connected to a UPS.
The latest version of power-protection innovator TrippLite’s PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent (PANSA) is now fully compatible with the Mac OS X operating systems. The announcement was made last week.
“This new release of PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent enables Mac users to take advantage of its many advanced capabilities,” explains Mike Delgrosso, Tripp Lite‘s director of software development. “Its ability to monitor SNMP-capable networked devices that are in direct communication with a UPS system opens the door to a host of advanced power management capabilities not previously available to Mac users.”
The latest version of PANSA enables networked computers not directly connected to a UPS to shut down automatically when a power problem is detected. The software monitors an SNMP-capable device connected the UPS, and is configurable to respond to specific power events.
Other capabilities of the latest PANSA model include:
- Auto-discovery of Tripp Lite UPS Systems
- Redundant configuration via monitoring of two UPS systems
- Script executiom
- Unattended shutdown of networked computers/servers
