Vendor to Watch: OIT

This channel-only vendor provides VoIP services by MSPs for MSPs.

OIT ASPIRES TO BE more than your voice provider, or even just a partner.

“”Everybody that comes in we treat as family,”” says Sean Lardo, the company’s vice president of partner development.

It helps that OIT’s founder and CEO, Ray Orsini, is himself a one-time MSP frustrated by the poor service and reliability he got from a series of VoIP providers. “”We felt that we could do it equally as well, if not better, than our competitors and actually profit better too,”” Lardo says.

In 2013, therefore, the company began custom developing a VoIP platform, first for its own use and then for use by other channel pros as well. “”We had a lot of MSP friends that were willing to work with us if we were going to become our own vendor and resell our voice services,”” Lardo says.

Everything OIT does, he continues, reflects its direct knowledge of what MSPs need. Over 90% of the channel-only company’s employees work in customer success roles or on the entirely U.S.-based support team. Every partner gets a dedicated account manager too, plus access to sales and marketing enablement resources and a recently launched partner portal.

There are two partner programs to choose from. The channel partner program, which pays 15-20% margins, handles onboarding, activation, and support on behalf of members. Partners in the white-label program take care of those duties themselves, but typically collect 70-80% margins in return. “”There’s a great deal of money there,”” Lardo observes. Family, however, deserves nothing less.
