ChannelPro held its annual Cybersecurity Online Summit on August 5, gathering managed service providers, IT integrators, and other channel pros in a virtual setting to discuss best practices and specific recommendations needed to create, sell, deliver, and profit from expert security services.
“The demand for cybersecurity services, and the opportunity for channel pros to profit from that demand, have never been greater,” said ChannelPro President and Publisher Michael Siggins. “Our Cybersecurity Online Summit gave attendees a chance to hear about today’s most effective tools, techniques, and security business strategies from their peers in the channel and some of the industry’s top vendors.”
Educational sessions included:
Securing Clients, Securing Your Future—Our panel of experienced security service providers, Malik Khan, Joshua Liberman, and Jason Pizzo, offered up a frank look at best practices for keeping customers safe now and building the security practice SMBs will need in the post-coronavirus future.
The Art and Science of Post-Perimeter Security—Security experts Ian Thornton-Trump and Michael O’Hara discussed why securing users in the age of cloud computing, mobility, and work-from-home arrangements takes a whole new set of tools and techniques.
Internet of Threats: Profiting from IoT Security—SMB networks are rapidly filling up with unconventional Internet of Things hardware. Channel pros Rory Sanchez, Ivan O’Connor, and Todd Weber provided some straight talk about mitigating the risks those devices pose and why it’s both a responsibility and an opportunity for your business.
Mastering Managed Security—Our panel of managed security pros, Lawrence Cruciana, Renee McCloden, and Angela Hogaboom, discussed the big revenue to be made from combining the ever-growing need for cybersecurity services with the magic of recurring revenue. They also talked about how channel pros can exploit tomorrow’s biggest security opportunities today.
Better Together: Compliance Meets Managed Services—Our panel of consultants and practitioners addressed the question: Is compliance as a service right for you? Beth Haddock, Mike Semel, and Bruce McCully covered the risks and rewards of turning regulations like HIPAA, PCI, and the CCPA into a source of recurring monthly revenue.
Attendees also heard discussions on choosing secure managed services tools, password security, layered security , and MSP-friendly security software. The keynote address was provided by Dell Technologies/McAfee.
“We can’t thank our speakers enough for the time and expertise they so generously shared with our audience,” said ChannelPro Executive Editor Rich Freeman. “Hearing from people with real-world, first-hand knowledge of cybersecurity services is the best way to learn about this enormous market opportunity.”
