Bitdefender has introduced a solution that makes the same threat intelligence resources utilized by its endpoint, network, and other security products available to end users and partners worldwide.
Named Bitdefender Advanced Threat Intelligence, the new offering provides real-time insights into malicious URLs, file hashes, advanced persistent threats, and other potential risks based on input from over 500 million users. According to Bitdefender, the service is platform-agnostic and compatible with any SIEM equipped to consume REST APIs.
“Without a question, organizations are increasingly turning to data science and security services to keep ahead of the onslaught of cybercrime and attack,” said Harish Agastya, senior vice president of enterprise solutions at Bitdefender, in a media statement. “Our Advanced Threat Intelligence service lets our customers leverage our extensive, international network of telemetry and a vast organization of the industry’s top experts that they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.”
Bitdefender Advanced Threat Intelligence is backed by the vendor’s Cyber-Threat Intelligence Labs unit, which continually scrutinizes information collected from millions of customers, along with data from law enforcement agencies, industry partners, and a global network of traps, honeypots, and botnets. Systems operated by the lab automatically analyze up to 200,000 new and unique pieces of malware per day, and block millions of “indicators of compromise” (IoCs) daily with help from machine learning, advanced heuristics, content analysis, and other technologies.
According to Bitdefender, the same underlying technologies that power the new Advanced Threat Intelligence service are used by over 38 percent of the world’s security solutions, and more than 150 managed security service providers, managed detection and response companies, and other technology partners.
As ChannelPro reported in March, Bitdefender is in the midst of a concerted campaign to recruit MSP partners and introduce as-a-service purchasing options for its solutions.
