Continuum Veterans Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing financial support to local and national charities that focus on helping veterans find jobs in the IT industry, has donated $50,000 to Hire Heroes USA for the third year in a row. Hire Heroes USA is an Atlanta, Georgia-based organization dedicated to creating job opportunities for U.S. military veterans and their spouses through employment training and corporate engagement. Last year’s donation to Hire Heroes USA provided services to 1,115 transition workshop participants, creating 5,829 final resumes, working with 6,717 new clients, conducting 45,521 career counseling sessions, and confirming 2,847 veterans hired.
“Hire Heroes USA couldn’t fulfill our mission if it weren’t for loyal, generous donors like the Continuum Veterans Foundation,” says Nathan Smith, chief operating officer at Hire Heroes USA. “As we grow to better meet the demand of transitioning military members, veterans and their spouses, Continuum has increased their support of Hire Heroes USA beyond a financial donation to include increasing awareness among their partners and challenging them to help transform military service into civilian success, from hiring veterans and spouses, to donating and fundraising on our behalf. With a percentage of revenue from its Help Desk going to the Continuum Veterans Foundation, Continuum is the sole donor to the foundation. The company also calls on other businesses to help in its efforts. IT industry marketing and sales expert Robin Robins donated 10 percent of the sales of her popular toolkit during Continuum’s user conference, Navigate 2015.†HTG Peer Groups and Continuum teamed up to host a silent auction at HTG Q4 Meeting, raising $14,115 for Hire Heroes USA on behalf of the Continuum Veterans Foundation. Continuum also encourages its managed services provider (MSP) partners to utilize Hire Heroes USA to fill vacant IT job openings.
