FalconStor Software, a disk-based data protection provider, has launched the latest version of FalconStor Virtual Tape Library. FalconStor VTL 7.5 expands its deduplication capabilities, giving customers the flexibility to optimize backup.
With FalconStor VTL 7.5, customers have an array of deduplication options, including inline, concurrent, post-processing, or no deduplication, as well as the flexibility to deploy them in multiple configurations. Customers can deploy FalconStor Turbo deduplication with post and concurrent processing, reduced input/output (I/O) cycles, and boosting performance up to 300 percent.
Additional features include:
- Improved scalability and performance with the Symantec Open Storage (OST) platform, allowing up to two million backups in an eight-node cluster
- Scalable by adding nodes or storage
- Easy expansion of data repository nodes
- Reduced memory requirements
- Advanced security options with extended Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), tape-shredding functionality, full replication encryption, and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) support for government agencies.
