Infortrend Introduces EconStor DS Storage Arrays
Unique FC-to-SAS/SATA and iSCI-to-SAS/SATA products feature Snapshot and Volume Copy/Mirror software.
Network storage maker Infortrend has released unique FC-to-SAS/SATA and iSCI-to-SAS/SATA storage arrays. Part of the company’s new EonStor DS line of products, the storage systems are aimed at SMBs looking for comprehensive data protection functionality
at reasonable prices.
Built on a high availability (HA) hardware platform, EonStor DS supports storage-based Snapshot and Volume Copy/Mirror. All redundant modules (including controllers, power supplies and cooling fans) are hot-swappable.†
In addition, Full RAID protection ensures continuous data accessibilty and integrity, even when up to two drives fail. Infortrend also integrates its innovative CacheSafe technology into EonStor DS arrays to safeguard cached data during power outages.

The first EonStor DS models come equipped with Infortrend’s own SANWatch management software suite. The products also come with host connectivity choices: 8Gb/s Fibre Channel (FC), 4Gb/s FC, and 1GbE iSCSI.
Infortrend reports additional EonStor DS family models are to be expected in the near future.
