Fishbowl Launches Wireless Inventory Solution
For use with QuickBooks, the inventory solution from software developer Fishbowl aims to provide easy-to-use bar coding technology with real-time transaction processing to SMBs.
Business software developer Fishbowl has created an extension for its flagship Fishbowl Inventory product. The new Fishbowl Mobile Warehouse inventory software enables users to process, transfer, and receive warehouse inventory in real time.
Fishbowl Inventory is an inventory solution for QuickBooks aimed at SMBs. Fishbowl Mobile Warehouse integrates with that product, and it can be installed on an unlimited number of scanners with a given warehouse. Scanned information is then stored in a hand-held device and processed to Fishbowl Inventory at the end of the order. The product works on mobile scanners and devices using Microsoft Mobile 5 and 6.

Williams says Fishbowl Mobile Warehouse offers three key benefits:
- Receiving–Logging inventory into the system, making changes to quantities received, and entering tracking information can all be done in real-time, right off the delivery truck.
- Picking–“You can combine multiple orders and pick them simultaneously,” Williams says. He adds that instead of printing a pick order, Fishbowl Mobile can guide a user through the warehouse in an efficient path to fill orders, reducing picking transmit times, and increasing employee productivity.
- Retrieve Part Information–Part descriptions, UPCs, and part-tracking information can all be acquired via a handheld device. Williams adds, “If you go outside of your warehouse’s wireless coverage area, your data is automatically preserved and ready to resubmit once the connection is reestablished.
Fishbowl Mobile Warehouse is available now for a one-time fee of $1,595. The price includes lifetime software upgrades.
