Gefen’s New 4×1 KVM Switcher Sports Multiple Display Options
Enhanced KVM switcher provides access to four computers via a single display with single- or dual-link DVI connectivity.
Gefen has announced that it has added the next-gen 4×1 KVM DVI DL switcher to its line of .
The new ‘keyboard, video, mouse’ (KVM) switcher supports the connection of one display using either single- or dual-link DVI, giving the user more flexibility while supporting resolutions up to 3840×2400.
The new 4×1 KVM DVI DL switcher sports internal EDID management, eliminating the need to reboot when switching between computers or to restore the original resolution settings and desktop icons for each computer.
The 4×1 KVM DVI DL Switcher performs across platforms, providing a more-or-less “a plug and play” method of system integration without networking. It offers KVM control of four computers from one workstation. Users choose their computer using the IR remote, front panel selector, or any RS-232 control device.
Two hi-speed USB 2.0 outputs support any keyboard/mouse combination, while the one DVI output supports either a single- or dual-link display. Stereo audio connections are also switched for each computer, routing audio in addition to video and control peripherals. Rack ears are included for mounting.
Gefen president and CEO Hagai Genen says the new features provide a smoother transition throughout the switching. “This new switcher replaces two previous versions, each handling either single- or dual-link DVI,” he explains. “With this new version, users have more options with their display, and a streamlined switching approach that saves time and increases productivity in the studio or work environment.”
