Mimosa NearPoint for SharePoint provides unified archiving solution for retention, retrieval, and recovery of critical SharePoint Server 2010 content for e-discovery.

Mimosa Systems, provider of e-mail, file, and Microsoft SharePoint Server technology archiving solutions, has launched a unified content archiving solution for SharePoint. Mimosa NearPoint for Sharepoint will deliver complete content archiving, data protection, and e-discovery support for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.

Designed to be a comprehensive content archiving solution, Mimosa NearPoint will extend its information management and archiving to simplify recovery management as well as to support long-term retention needs of users migrating to SharePoint Server 2010.

Microsoft SharePoint Server products are increased adoption as companies move to improve organizational effectiveness through collaboration and content management.

“It accelerates shared business processes and facilitates information sharing across boundaries,” Mimosa Systems says of its NearPoint product in a recent press release. “NearPoint for SharePoint enhances the information management capabilities native to SharePoint Server 2010 and addresses critical requirements for data recovery, storage management, and cost optimization, information access, and eDiscovery.”

Mimosa says its NearPoint for SharePoint product features:

  • Improved Recovery Time–Comprehensive data protection for all SharePoint Server 2010 content, including documents, lists, sites, and site collections, site configuration, and custom metadata is provided via a one-click recovery of individual items, sites, or farms.
  • Decreased Archive Storage Costs–Global single instance storage across SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail, and free-range File system content within the Mimosa NearPoint archive curb multi-approach costs.
  • Expedited eDiscovery Processes–With integrated search as well as with in-place legal holds across SharePoint Server 2010, Exchange, and File system content, NearPoint streamlines procedure.
  • Improved User Experience–Optional placeholders within SharePoint Server 2010 provide access archived content. In addition, NearPoint for Sharepoint provides integrated archiving, recovery, and eDiscovery.

Mimosa says its new NearPoint also provides a comprehensive SharePoint Server 2010 data capture. “Customers can capture all content types and associated metadata and attachments, perform continuous capture via change notification, and preserve the relationships between sites and content,” the company says.

T.M Ravi, CEO of Mimosa Systems, says his company’s Microsoft Gold-Certified Partner status led to the development of its NearPoint support for SharePoint Server 2010. “This collaborative development has resulted in the most comprehensive archiving and data protection solution available,” he says. “It enables enterprises to optimize their storage costs, and data retention requirements so that they can more efficiently protect, archive, recover, and discover data across the enterprise.”
