Tenable and ServiceNow Enhance Strategic Security Alliance to Reduce Cyber Risk

New integrations deliver common visibility to security and IT operations teams to simplify cyber risk management and reduction

Tenable, Inc., the Cyber Exposure company, has announced new and updated integrations with ServiceNow designed to streamline and accelerate the management, measurement, and reduction of cyber risk.

Digital transformation has led to a surge in the number and types of technologies and computing platforms in today’s corporate environments. This has created a massive blind spot in an organization’s ability to accurately manage, measure and reduce cyber risk. To compound the problem, IT and security teams often work in silos, creating communication breakdowns and resulting in critical vulnerabilities not being identified nor prioritized in a timely manner.

Tenable’s latest integrations with ServiceNow represent cutting-edge offerings that connect security and IT teams through common visibility, enabling customers to automatically discover traditional IT assets, as well as modern assets such as cloud and IoT, continually assess them for vulnerabilities and accelerate and verify the remediation process. Together, Tenable and ServiceNow are helping IT and security teams collaborate more effectively to prioritize their remediation efforts through repeatable workflows to address their most urgent items first, thus reducing risk to the business.†

New and enhanced integrations include:

Tenable.io and SecurityCenter for Vulnerability Response

  • Tenable has enhanced its bi-directional integrations which deliver market-leading asset visibility and vulnerability intelligence from its enterprise platforms, Tenable.io and SecurityCenter, into ServiceNow’s Vulnerability Response module. This offering provides customers with a closed-loop remediation process- from discovering machines to finding the vulnerabilities to orchestrating patching to verifying successful remediations- out of the box.

Tenable.io for ITSM

  • This new integration gives customers the ability to directly import Tenable.io vulnerability data into ServiceNow within its ITSM workflow for faster remediation. For users who need more advanced workflow and prioritization purpose-built for security operations teams, Tenable.io and SecurityCenter include out-of-the-box integrations with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.†

Tenable.io for Assets

  • This new integration includes bi-directional asset syncing from Tenable.io directly to the ServiceNow CMDB, helping to ensure that security teams receive the same level of visibility as IT teams into assets across the modern enterprise. The result is that customers gain and maintain a more complete and accurate picture of the totality of their assets and their attack surface, which positions them to cross-functionally resolve cyber risk issues faster.

“Security teams are overwhelmed by hundreds of critical vulnerabilities with little business context as to which they should tackle first,” said Ray Komar, vice president of technology integrations, Tenable. “Our new integrations with ServiceNow help teams automatically discover and remediate the most critical vulnerabilities first, reducing the Cyber Exposure gap and the potential of a business-impacting event. We remain committed to our ongoing partnership with ServiceNow, as well as our joint mission to bridge the divide between IT and security with effective and efficient workflows.”

These integrations are generally available as applications on the†ServiceNow Store.

As part of their commitment to driving thought leadership combined with practical insights to bridge the gap between security and IT in the modern enterprise, Tenable and ServiceNow have launched a 12-city roadshow together with Optiv.
