VMware Partner Exchange 2010 is quickly becoming a notable event for virtualization partners. This year, it's offering more than 150 sessions and an extensive exhibitor pavilion to demonstrate virtualization business solutions and best practices.

Partner attendees will be getting a sneak-peek at VMware's next generation of products and programs this week. They also get to hear from VMware executives and other industry leaders.

Thus far, the company's third annual, weeklong global partner conference has drawn more than 2,600 attendees from around the world as well as 55 sponsors. Sponsors of the event include Arrow ECS, Cisco, EMC, HP, Ingram Micro, Intel, NetApp, Novell, Trend Micro, and Wyse.

According to VMware, the event comes on the heels of a positive year. The company reports having experienced steady growth last year, as well as continued investment in such programs as solution competencies, VMware Partner University, and cl.

"VMware represents the next generation of IT, with our technology as the key enabler for the private cloud," says Carl Eschenbach, executive vice president of worldwide field operations at VMware. "But our diverse partner ecosystem and its broad footprint in the marketplace are paramount to helping customers transition to the private cloud."

Eschenbach says the VMware Partner Exchange event helps VMware "connect the dots" by bring partners together to "get previews on VMware technology and share ideas with their peers."
