Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services Launches New Service into the Healthcare Market with the Introduction of a Revolutionary Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Platform, LINK

LINK connects hardware, software, and activation technology to enable the first ever device dedicated to EVV

Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services today announced its continued expansion into healthcare logistics with the introduction of LINK, a groundbreaking platform to enable the first mobile device to be used solely for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV). EVV is mandated by the 21st Century Cures Act to ensure that individuals receive services provided by home- and community-based services agencies and this innovation arrives as demand for telehealth services accelerates.

Historically, EVV has been managed through apps installed on caregivers’ personal phones or tablets, making security difficult to manage and leaving open possibilities of data overages and GPS tracking issues. A dedicated EVV device enabled by LINK grants Payer and Provider organizations improved control over the devices individuals use for patient care, a possibility powered by IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, a SaaS unified endpoint management (UEM) product that allows for the management of enterprise-issued devices with Android Enterprise.

The global pandemic has increased the demand for telehealth services and related medical devices, which was already growing with the expansion of reimbursement and use of mobile health (mHealth) apps. According to MarketWatch, the telehealth market was valued at over 31 million USD in 2019 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 17.06% from 2021 to 2028. Research & Markets projected YOY growth to be over 80% in 2020, and the need for EVV solutions is expected to rise with further adoption of telehealth services.

“Launching the LINK platform to enable the first dedicated EVV device is a significant milestone for our business,” said Alex Paskoff, senior vice president & managing director of mobility, Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services. “For more than thirty years, Ingram Micro has been the leading provider of logistics and supply chain operations for the largest names in the mobile device industry and we are excited to expand into the rapidly growing healthcare market. Leveraging the protections built in IBM Security MaaS360, we are thrilled to extend our capabilities to serve healthcare agencies and related organizations, especially as the need for innovation in telehealth is brought to light by the global pandemic.”

Under the 21st Century Cures Act, EVV confirms that a caregiver has provided the agreed upon service to an individual, identifies the person who received care and the person who provided it, documents the date, start and end times of a visit, and records the location where it occurred. In 2016, the Cures Act mandated that all states and territories must require the use of EVV for personal care services (PCS) and home health care services (HHCS) that involve an in-home visit from a provider. Most States received an extension on the initial implementation deadline and are required to implement EVV for PCS by January 1, 2021 and for HHCS by January 1, 2023.
