Cintas, a document management services company, is now offering its Digital Vault Exchange (DVX) product. This online system backs up all databases, operating systems, and corporate emails, and instantly recovers data if deleted or corrupted. The Cintas DVX can save files for a fixed amount of time, depending on the company’s retention policy, providing businesses with security and compliance. Backups can be scheduled from every minute to monthly, and retention periods can range from seven days to seven years.
According to Jamie Samide, director of marketing for emerging business at Cintas, 60 percent of companies that lose their data are out of business within six months. That’s a terrifying prospect, given natural disaster and hard drive crashes. The Cintas DVZ features high-level, 256-bit AES encryption, equivalent to the U.S. government’s standard for classified information. It also protects against natural disasters, employee errors, and hard drive crashes.
