ChannelPro Network and its IoT Playbook brand have hosted their second annual Canadian IT Service Provider Online Summit. The October 1 virtual event, which featured an extensive lineup of live, interactive sessions, brought together industry experts and thought leaders for a full day of business-building education, best practices, and training. The content was specifically designed to offer proven best practices, practical instruction, and concrete recommendations that Canadian-based IT consultants, VARs, and MSPs need to create, sell, deliver, and profit from managed IT and security services.

Targeted for a Canadian audience and featuring speakers from the Canadian IT channel, the show’s content covered cloud and cybersecurity market trends, business growth strategies, operational best practices, and more.

Datto's Rob Rae talks about optimism in the channel.

“We are grateful for the support of Diamond sponsor Datto and Emerald sponsor Webroot, an OpenText company, in our efforts to help channel pros across Canada stay on top of industry trends and position their businesses for the future, even in these uncertain times,” says Michael Siggins, president and publisher of The ChannelPro Network. “Our second Canadian IT Service Provider Online Summit built on the foundation we laid last year, offering an even more innovative online platform where attendees were able to interact with our live panelists and network with their peers.”

Attendees honored Datto with the Best in Show sponsor award.

Live sessions on October 1 included:

Coronavirus and the Cloud—The business world is taking a crash course in remote productivity, and SMB technology will never be the same. In this session, leading-edge cloud service providers Barbara Paluszkiewicz, Chad Kempt, and Paolo Del Nibletto provided insights on keeping clients connected from home today and capitalizing on exploding demand for cloud solutions tomorrow.

Securing Clients, Securing Your Future—Our panel of managed security experts Scott Beck, Todd Crystal, Adam Sprague, and Ted Shafran took a frank look at best practices for keeping customers safe now and building the security practice SMBs will need when conditions start returning to normal.

Weathering the COVID-19 Storm: A Survival Guide—Expert managed services consultants Rayanne Buchianico and Manuel Palachuk outlined the financial and operational moves channel pros must make now to preserve cash and maximize profit.

Peer to Peer: Best Practices for Big Challenges—Hiring and retaining good people. Generating sales leads. Adopting a vertical industry specialty. All three are important. All three are incredibly difficult too. In this panel discussion, real-world channel pros Luis Giraldo, Jeffrey Jansen, and Barbara Paluszkiewicz (pictured right) revealed how they are successfully tackling these common and demanding challenges.

ChannelPro is hosting two more business-building events to wrap up the year. The final ChannelPro SMB Forum event of 2020, for partners in the southwestern U.S., is being held virtually on November 5. To register, go here.
