BitTitan and Dropbox Deepen Their Alliance Relationship

MSPs can now migrate files to Dropbox Business from Google or Microsoft repositories and on-premises servers via BitTitan’s MigrationWiz solution.

Kirkland, Wash.-based BitTitan Inc. and San Francisco-based Dropbox Inc. have expanded the alliance agreement they announced in July.

The core of that agreement was a backend integration between Dropbox Business and BitTitan’s MigrationWiz product designed to make moving files from competing systems into Dropbox’s file sync and share solution for SMBs and enterprises significantly easier. According to BitTitan, MigrationWiz transfers files to Dropbox Business 70 percent faster than similar systems from other providers.

Prior to today, the Dropbox-MigrationWiz integration applied only to files stored in Box Inc.‘s online repository. Effective immediately, however, channel pros can perform migrations from Google Drive, Google Sites, Microsoft’s OneDrive and SharePoint Online solutions, and on-premises file servers into Dropbox Business as well.

“More and more businesses are choosing Dropbox as their collaboration platform of record, and integrating with BitTitan, a globally respected cloud services delivery company, allows us to offer service providers the tools to securely and quickly migrate critical documents through an automated process,” said Hank Humphreys, Dropbox’s head of global channel sales, in a press statement.

MigrationWiz is a component of MSPComplete, the cloud services enablement platform BitTitan rolled out last October that helps MSPs conduct sales and marketing activities, onboard new customers, and deliver services more efficiently. Partnering with Dropbox arms BitTitan to help MSPComplete users distinguish themselves from other cloud service providers by combining commoditized offerings from Google and Microsoft with file collaboration services from one of the most recognized names in IT.

“In this competitive cloud environment, it is essential that IT service providers be able to provide differentiated services and products. By forming a strategic alliance with Dropbox, we are making it easier than ever for MSPs to intelligently bundle together best-of-breed solutions like Microsoft Office 365, for example, with complementary products and services and create additional services revenue,” said BitTitan vice president of product and marketing Rocco Seyboth in today’s press release.

Both the new and previously introduced Dropbox-MigrationWiz integrations are available now worldwide via BitTitan’s website. MSPs in the U.S. and Canada can also access them via two major distributors, Irvine, Calif.-based Ingram Micro Inc. and Fremont, Calif.-based SYNNEX Corp.

Per the original partnership unveiled two months ago, Dropbox partners continue to enjoy free use of MSPComplete and to get Dropbox-specific leads, customer conversation scripts, and other resources through that system. Benefits like those are potentially useful to Dropbox, which is in the midst of a vigorous partner recruitment drive aimed at switching primary responsibility for selling Dropbox Business from in-house account managers to the channel.

MSPComplete is the core element of an ongoing push by BitTitan to grow its partner base and broaden its overseas presence. Those ambitious objectives that were behind its decision to raise private equity funding earlier this year for the first time since its founding in 2007.
