Technology distributor Avnet Inc. has introduced its offering of the VCE VxRail Appliance Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite Mobility Solutions Framework, a new solution for the mid-market that links private cloud, public cloud, and mobile device functionality. The solution enables the distributor’s EMC partners to demonstrate a viable IT platform that organizations can adopt as a foundation for their own mobility service delivery programs.

“Mid-market data center teams are confronted with an ever-increasing demand for new applications, new services, and new ways of doing business,” says Eric Barnhart, vice president of Avnet’s EMC solutions business unit in the Americas. “Since each mid-market organization has its own view of how and where mobile applications would best enable and extend their business goals, Avnet worked with EMC and our partner base to develop a mid-market mobility framework based on standards and best practices gleaned from our combined years of experience. This mobility solutions framework enables our partners to discuss a client’s business goals and requirements in the context of a Mobility Solutions Catalog and help deliver real solutions.”

According to the company, the new mobility solution is all about the end user and how partners can develop and suggest solutions that reduce both risk and cost and address critical governance issues. The VCE VxRail appliances are jointly engineered, hyper-converged infrastructure appliances by EMC and VMware that integrate virtualization, compute, storage, and data protection in one system, with a single point of support. The Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite solutions framework from Avnet is designed to seamlessly tie together hardware, software, and services.

“Organizations of all sizes are turning to solutions built on top of hyper-converged infrastructure appliances to increase agility, simplify operation,s and lower risk in their data centers. The versatility and superior feature function of the VxRail Appliances combined with a low entry price are enabling our partner ecosystem to innovate and add more value to their customers,” says Gil Shneorson, vice president and general manager, VxRail, VCE, Converged Platform Division of EMC Corporation. “The new solution framework for mobility from Avnet provides resellers with an opportunity to address the large Microsoft mobile market enabled by the adoption of Microsoft Windows 10.”
