Asigra Certifies Its Cloud Backup v12 for Windows 8 and Server 2012

The data protection software suite can be installed on new Microsoft platforms, enabling all data and applications to be backed up, recovered, and restored.

Cloud backup and recovery software developer Asigra Inc. has certified compatibility of its Cloud Backup v.12 with Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Server 2012. The certification ensures new features and functions in Asigra Cloud Backup v12 will operate seamlessly with servers, desktops, and laptops running the latest Microsoft operating systems.

“The Asigra technology team has validated the installation and operation of all Asigra Cloud Backup v12 features across a broad range of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems,” the company states in a press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB.

Asigra Cloud Backup is a secure, single end-to-end data protection software suite designed to protect data across physical, virtualized, endpoint, and cloud operating environments. The hardware and software agnostic solution can be deployed as a public, private, and hybrid cloud either as enterprise software or leveraged as a backup service through MSPs.

Asigra has certified that its software can be installed on new Microsoft platforms, enabling all data and applications supported on these operating systems to be backed up, recovered, and restored in the case of a data loss event. Furthermore, compatibility testing with Microsoft Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 ensures SMBs deploying Asigra in these environments will experience simple installation, operations, and management.

“In order to complete interoperability testing, Asigra Cloud Backup v12 was reviewed for compatibility, resiliency, adherence to Windows security best practices, support for Windows security features, clean and reversible installation as well as other technical requirements,” the Asigra press release states.

Microsoft platforms certified with version 12 by Asigra include:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard (x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Essentials (x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Data Center (x64)
  • Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (x86/x64)
  • Microsoft Windows 8 Enterprise (x86/x64)
  • Microsoft Windows 8 (x86/x64)

Asigra says the goal of the certification is to “expand upon what users expect from Asigra Cloud Backup software v12.”

Asigra’s compatibility includes storage, servers, desktops, and a range of endpoint devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

In addition, Asigra Cloud Backup also provides cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery of data residing in such SaaS and PaaS-based applications as Salesforce.com. The solution is ideal for SMBs challenged with compliance concerns where data security is assured with NIST FIPS 140-2 certification.
