ViewSonic Introduces Thin Client and Zero Client Solutions

The new VDI solutions are designed to meet the networking needs of SMBs, educators, and enterprises alike.

ViewSonic Corp., a global provider of visual solution products, announced its lineup of Smart Client solutions, including new Thin Client and Zero Client product offerings that enable users to access their desktop accounts from a PC server nearly anywhere.

ViewSonic’s Thin Client and Zero Client offerings feature a tiny 0.6L design with space-saving options such as an included mounting bracket for attachment to any VESA ready monitor. Both categories are optimized and certified for use within the major virtualized environments (Microsoft RemoteFX, Citrix ICA/HDX, and VMware PCoIP).

Users will benefit from ease of deployment, simplified management, enhanced security, better accessibility, and a lower total cost of ownership, according to ViewSonic. The company also says that paired with TAA Trade Compliance, flexible dual digital (DVI) output support for 1080p multi-monitor usage, the consumption of up to 80 percent less energy, a Kensington lock, and a low total cost of ownership, the Smart Clients are optimized to meet the networking needs of educators, SMBs, and enterprises alike.

Thin Clients – SC-T35 and SC-T45
The SC-T35 is a Linux-based Thin Client featuring a Texas Instruments DM8148 ARM CPU and ARM Linux OS. The Windows-based SC-T45 Thin Client features an Intel Atom N2800 for PC-like performance, making it suitable for 2D / 3D graphics-based applications. Both paired with ViewSonic’s Device Management (VDM) software, the Thin Clients provide IT administrators with a client management interface for easier deployment and administration.

Zero Clients – SC-Z55
The SC-Z55 Zero Client is designed for enterprise-class financial, healthcare, and government institutions that seek ultra-high reliability and security in VMware based networks. Based on a Teradici Tera 2321 processor, with hardware accelerated PCoIP support, this true Zero Client device features no local memory or moving parts, delivering energy savings and reliability. Paired with the VDI solution for VMware based infrastructures, the SC-Z55 is ideal for organizations looking to support a large number of users with a secure, scalable, and efficient solution.

Pricing and Availability
These Smart Clients all come standard with a three-year limited parts and labor warranty. The SC-T35, SC-T45, and SC-Z55 will be available in North and Latin America in early March for respective ESPs of $199, $379, and $299.
