MSP360’s New Online Access 2.0 Streamlines Backup Process for IT Service Providers

“Software must be stable and simple, requiring less effort for management, troubleshooting, and monitoring,” says Oleg Sapon, vice president of product management for MSP360.

MSP360, a global leader in providing secure and reliable backup and management solutions for services providers and IT departments, unveiled a major new time-saving feature when it comes to navigating backups: Online Access 2.0.

MSP360’s Online Access 2.0 aims to address MSPs’ challenges in managing IT support tickets related to backup data access and restorations, ultimately empowering providers to focus on other important tasks, such as strategic cybersecurity initiatives.

It is designed to enable end users to independently use MSP360 Managed Backup, performing item-level restorations without direct MSP intervention, according to a press release. This streamlines the process, allowing users to effortlessly download necessary files directly to their computers, saving valuable time and effort.

“Considering the increasingly complex IT threat landscape, MSPs can’t afford to use their scarce resources on monotonous tasks,” MSP360 CEO Brian Helwig said in a prepared statement. “By enabling MSPs to offer this option to end users, they can concentrate more on critical functions like threat prevention, detection, and remediation, as well as strategic planning and services that drive revenue.”

The feature is a significant one for MSPs, since it meets their need for ease and reliability in software, Oleg Sapon, MSP360 vice president of product management, told ChannelPro.

“Modern MSPs have a highly optimized organizational structure that saves all MSP resources, including how administrators manage the MSP’s solutions portfolio. Software must be stable and simple, requiring less effort for management, troubleshooting, and monitoring.”

MSP360’s Online Access 2.0 also helps address a big challenge for MSPs and their SMB clients when it comes to data, in that only the data’s owner knows what they want to restore, where and when and whether the restored data should replace the old one, Sapon explained.

“Restoring end-user data with the involvement of the person not owning the data (e.g., the administrator) would require more details, communication, and time. The Online Access option allows the end-user to manage data backed up from his workstation, eliminating the need for an administrator-engaged process.”

Addressing the crucial balance between data security and user-friendliness, Online Access 2.0 enables end users to access their data with security features available to administrators, such as two-factor authentication, data and traffic encryption, and access controls – ensuring that the end user can only access the data uploaded from his workstation, Sapon noted.

MSP360’s introduction of Online Access 2.0 offers a big boost to MSPs by streamlining operations and enhancing the end-user experience, fostering a more proactive and self-sufficient approach to data management. As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, MSPs can now leverage this innovative solution to optimize their resources and deliver enhanced services to their clients.
