Acer Backs Intel’s Haswell with 29 Products

The company’s six Aspire desktops and 23 notebooks will support Intel’s fourth-gen Core processor.

We’ve been hearing a lot of good buzz about Intel’s fourth-generation Core processor, also known as Haswell. Of course, a lot of those accolades are coming out of Acer, which just introduced a whopping 29 products that will support those new processors.

The new lineup includes 23 Acer Aspire notebooks and six Acer Aspire desktops.

The hook on Haswell is that it promises a noticable difference in your device’s battery life — for the better. According to Intel, these fourth-gen processors can increase battery life up to 50 percent. Of course, it’s not just about power. Haswell also comes packing the promise of Intel’s Iris graphics, which boasts double the performance over the previous generation. Who wouldn’t like that sort of boost?

The 23 new Aspire notebooks will be spread out over Acer’s S7, M, V3, V5, V7, and E Series, with prices ranging from $599.99 to $1,699.99.

The Acer Aspire S7 Series of ultrabooks will have the second-generation Aspire S7-392 and the option for an Intel Core i5-4200U or i7-4500U processor, as well as 8GB memory and either a 128GB or 256GB solid state drive. Those options will be available with starting prices ranging from $1,399.99 to $1,699.99.

Next up is the ultra-thin Acer Aspire V7-482PG-9884-U ultrabook, which has a 14-inch HD display with IPS technology. This portable gets its performance from an Intel Core i7-4500U processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT750M graphics with 4GB video memory, 12GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive. That model will be an Acer.com exclusive for $1,299.99.

Another one of the new portables is the Acer Aspire V3-772G Series. Designed for all of you gamers, this model has a large 17.3-inch HD display with the super-fast Intel Core i7 4702MQ processor. This line will also be available with NVIDIA GeForce GTX760M graphics with 2GB of discrete video memory, as well as up to 12GB of memory and up to a 1TB hard drive. Expect the models in this line to sell with a starting price of $999.99.

If you’re looking for something more stationary, Acer is introducing six desktops within the AT3-605 Series and the Predator AG3-605 Series, with prices starting at $699.99.

One of the highlights is the Acer Predator AG3-605-UR20, which is designed for those needing performance and graphics for entertainment, gaming, and digital media. It has an Intel Core i7 4770 processor running at 3.4GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.9GHz, as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 graphics with 1.5GB of discrete video memory, 32GB of memory, and 3TB of storage. This is definitely at the top of the new desktop line, with the manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting at $1,499.99.
