Networking innovator ZyXEL Communications has introduced a new series of Web-managed 24- and 48-port 10G switches (XGS1910) and gigabit switches (GS1910).
Aimed at SMBs, the switches are designed to provide high-throughput, network performance, and security management.
According to ZyXEL, its XGS1910 and GS1910 switches meet “increasing demand among SMBs for cloud-based services and applications like VoIP, video streaming, teleconferencing, and surveillance.”
Features of the switches include:
- A variety of VLAN features, including media access control (MAC), protocol-based VLAN and guest VLAN.
- Security management.
- IPv6-ready attributes.
- IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) to reduce energy consumption of devices.
The XGS1910-24 switch comes with two enhanced small form-factor SFP+ ports for 10G uplinks and/or stacking. The HP designation for the GS1910-24HPf / 48HP represents “high power.” These switches can power such devices as motorized IP cameras with pan, tilt, and zoom functions. ZyXEL HP switches are backward compatible with 802.3af PoE standard devices as well.
All are available now at leading online retailers and from ZyXEL authorized resellers, the MSRPs for the switches are as follows:
