Applications install innovator Ninite has added a new feature to its software installer offering. SMBs can now update software on multiple machines in an Active Directory Domain.
Ninite enables SMBs to update or install software by selecting multiple applications, which Ninite then updates and installs as part of a fully automated bundle.
Ninite currently supports 103 applications, including Flash, Java, Adobe Reader, Chrome, and Firefox.
ACTIVE DIRECTORY SUPPORT
Ninite’s new Active Directory support is designed to bring its application installer to the entire domain.
For example, it’s only 3 steps to make sure Flash is up-to-date and secure on all machines — just select your domain, check off the Flash versions for Internet Explorer and other browsers, and click “Go.” Ninite Pro will connect to each machine, check the Flash versions, and update them if they’re out of date. Everything happens in the background and end users aren’t disturbed.
All 103 programs can also be checked and updated using Ninite’s Update mode.
The new Active Directory support works with Ninite Pro’s audit mode, enabling SMBs to generate a report of the software on all machines to see what’s out of date.
Ninite also provides a “Disable Auto-Updates” feature. SMBs can use it to turn off update notifications in Acrobat, Reader, Flash, Java, Firefox, and more.
Ninite Pro starts at just 20 cents per machine per month. You can get a free trial and learn more at†https://ninite.com/pro.
