Networking hardware manufacturer TRENDnet has announced the availability of its new four-port, 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter with four integrated Gigabit ports (Model TPL-405E).
The new powerline AV adapter makes media center devices (such as Internet TVs, media players, network video recorders, receivers, etc.) capable of connecting to and streaming HD files directly from the Internet. Up to four media devices can be connected simultaneously.
SMBs can network one adapter to a router and plug another adapter into any outlet on the same electrical system for instant high speed network access. TRENDnet adapters connect automatically to each other over a secure encrypted signal without need for CD. For additional security, SMBs need only to press the Sync button to change existing encryption keys.
LED displays convey device status for power management and troubleshooting. Embedded power saving technology lowers power consumption by up to 70 percent in standby mode.
“Powerline solutions offer a stable high speed connection to stream HD video using the existing electrical lines in your home,” explains Zak Wood, TRENDnet’s director of global marketing. “With so many network-ready devices around, the TPL-405E helps solve the growing demand for multiple high-performance network connections.”
The four-Port 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter comes with a three-year limited warranty and is currently shipping to TRENDnet’s online and retail partners.
The MSRP for the TPL-405E is US $109.99.
