In a joint announcement, computing hardware manufacturer Lenovo and cloud storage innovator SugarSync announced this week that Lenovo’s PCs and tablets will be equipped with an integrated cloud storage solution.
“Lenovo and SugarSync are working together to offer an industry-leading cloud service so consumers can access, sync, and backup their files, photos, music and movies across their devices,” the companies stated in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.
Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync gives users a free 5 GB account to instantly auto-sync their files, photos, videos, and music to the cloud via their Lenovo PC, tablet, or any mobile device. Upgrades for additional storage capability are available for a fee.
The cloud storage product works not only with Lenovo products, but also with other Internet-based products. Other attributes include collaboration, social network, and data encryption features.
The new Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync offering will be available on new Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad laptops and Android tablet products beginning in April. The ability to download Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync is available immediately.
“Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync makes it incredibly simple and convenient for people to interact with their growing libraries of digital content, from anywhere, at any time,” said
“Lenovo Cloud Storage plays a fundamental role in our plan to expand Cloud services, bringing even more new capabilities to consumers and businesses around the world,” says Lenovo engineer and vice president Mark Cohen.
“Today people need to work with their data across all of their devices, while also being able to easily share and collaborate on that data from anywhere,” says SugarSync CEO Laura Yecies. “Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync enables people to access, sync, and share their digital lives across all computers and mobile devices.”
