Visual communication solutions developer SmartDraw Software introduced two new editions of its SmartDraw 2012 product last week: Business and Enterprise. Both of the new editions share all the features and functionality of the SmartDraw2012 Standard Edition, including the drawing and formatting features.
SmartDraw makes what it calls a “visual processor.” As the company explains it, the visual processor makes it easy for SMBs to create presentation-quality visuals, including graphics and layouts, in much the same way the word processor makes it easy to create text documents.
The two new versions are aimed at better targeting company needs. “Our customers love the exciting new features for meetings and planning we’ve added to the 2012 product line,” said Paul Stannard, CEO of SmartDraw.
“The new editions give our business customers additional powerful tools,” says SmartDraw CEO Paul Stannard, “such as new ways to create PowerPoint presentations, full integration with SharePoint, and new features compatible with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio.”
BUSINESS EDITION
SmartDraw’s enables the creation of professional-quality flow charts, mind maps, project charts, timelines, and other visuals.
According to SmartDraw, the 2012 Standard version is specifically designed to improve project collaboration, communication, and implementation with a number of new features. †The Business Edition, meanwhile, offers new way to create visual PowerPoint presentations. It also enables users to integrate their visual documents using SharePoint, including SharePoint 2010.
ENTERPRISE EDITION
Targeted at project managers and their teams, the Enterprise Edition offers the features of both the Standard and Business Editions. In addition, it gives users import/export capability with Microsoft Project, the ability to import files from Microsoft Visio (including Visio 2010 Visual Process Management), and enables users to build and share VPM collections.

Pricing of SmartDraw 2012 Standard Edition remains at $197 per license.† Existing customers who purchase by Feb. 17 can buy up to 10 copies of SmartDraw 2012 at the Standard Edition price and will be upgraded to the Enterprise Edition for free. †
