TRENDnet Launches Wireless N USB Adapter

The first-of-its-kind adapter is capable of speeds up to 450 Mbps over 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz.

TRENDnet, a networking hardware provider, has launched the 450 Mbps Dual Band Wireless N USB Adapter, model TEW-684UB. According to TRENDnet, this is the first ultra-high performance 450 Mbps wireless USB adapter to go to market.

The adapter upgrades laptop and desktop connectivity to a router with speeds of 450 Mbps, compared to 150 Mbps 802.11n technology or 54 Mbps 802.11g technology.

Advanced Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology generates the speed using three spatial streams per technology. One-touch Wi-Fi Protect Setup allows for a quick connection a 2.4 GHz or a 5 Ghz wireless network.

The WMM QoS technology prioritizes data streams, and LEDs on the front of the device convey status. The 450 Mbps Dual Band Wireless N USB Adapter, model TEW-684UB, comes with a three year limited warranty and an included three foot USB extension cable, available for $79.99.
