Web-Based Financial Dashboard Streamlines Financial Planning for SMBs

The SaaS-based financial dashboard from 60mo integrates with 10,000 financial institutions and includes forecasting, budget tracking, and other business productivity management features for SMBs.

60mo, an Ohio-based business productivity provider, is offering an online financial dashboard and forecasting tool designed for SMBs who need to streamline their business finance management and develop a business plan.

60mo integrates directly with more than 10,000 financial institutions, including banks and credit card companies, providing live access to all account balances and account information. By centralizing all financial data, SMBs no longer have to track down and consult multiple sources.

Many SMB IT service providers are SMBs themselves. Geared towards companies with fewer than 100 employees, you may fit into the targeted audience for the 60mo product. If you are having trouble managing your finances and business productivity and are looking for features such as forecasting and budget tracking, 60mo may be the right Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering for you.

According to Ed Buchholz, CEO, SMBs were using Excel for everything in the past. All day-to-day tasks, budgeting, and planning was done through Excel, which made it particularly difficult to analyze. The new product is designed to be a web-based subscription service to help clients plan their businesses and stay simple.

The latest update included the following features:

  • Advanced projections to incorporate banking data into a project grid, capable of better analysis and greater insight into the finances of a business.
  • Enhanced budget tracking capabilities allow users to create a budget and also track actual spending against the budget, with color-coded indicators of spending status.
  • Detailed runway forecasting defines cash flow and break-even points to help business owners understanding current spending levels and at what point to expect profit.
  • Advanced “what-if” scenario planning enables the users to create potential scenarios and see how they might impact finances. The scenario planning also helps users design a business plan to achieve goals.

The product also includes customized metric tracking and employee tracking. While the product is SaaS-based, Buchholz emphasizes that 60mo runs their own servers and do not rely on third party data services to ensure efficiency and reliability.

“We are cognizant of the problems that exist with cloud-based software and the potential security flaws,” says Buchholz, “and we work hard to mitigate those… We have a full network staff that manages our infrastructure manually.”

For SMBs, including SMB IT providers, Buchholz sums up the product as similar to enterprise-based business products and take them down to the SMB level, to afford them the same business productivity planning as enterprises..

“As we go forward and make our product even easier,” he says, “our hope is that SMBs will take the opportunities that we’re providing to build a real plan around their business and put the plan to good use.”
