According to Intel, there is a real opportunity for VARs to approach SMBs with servers. “Many SMBs that should own a server are making do instead with a ‘desktop on its side,'” says Intel in a company statement.
A real server—one based on Intel’s Xeon processor 3400 series, for example—would provide SMBs with a more suitable solution, Intel says. Moreover, Intel suggests the low price of the 3400 series makes it attractive to many SMBs.
“Help your customers grow their bottom line while you grow yours by selling Intel-based real servers,” the company tells channel pros.
“A PC-as-a-server solutions can’t keep pace with success and growth,” the company adds. “Real servers based on Intel Xeon processor 3400 series deliver over three times better performance than desktop computers.”
The Intel Xeon processor 3400 series-based servers are engineered for reliability. They also support centralized, automated backups and redundant RAID storage for data protection.
