Businesses looking for a more affordable, green alternative to color laser printing should take a look at Xerox’s latest solid ink offerings—the Xerox ColorQube 8870 and ColorQube 8570 color printers.
According to Xerox, the ColorQube solid ink printers produce consistent color prints, regardless of media type. Color by Words, a color-editing tool, allows for more accurate and vibrant colors on the first print. The printers feature Adobe Postscript3 and PANTONE color-approved simulations, color matching capabilities, and 2400 FinePoint image quality.
Green benefits of the Energy Star-qualified ColorQube 8570 and ColorQube 8870 include cartridge-free solid ink, which generates 90 percent less waste than comparable color laser printers, says Xerox, and the Earth Smart print driver that defaults for two-sided printing, proof print, recycled paper, and draft mode. An Intelligent Ready feature learns usage patterns and moves to low-power mode when the printer is least likely to be in use, and GreenPrint software automatically highlights unnecessary pages such as those with only banner ads or logos, prior to printing.
The ColorQube 8570 starts at $699 and is designed for small businesses. The ColorQube 8870 is priced at $2,499 and has pricing plans that reduce color page costs; customers that print high volumes pay only for the amount of color they use on a given page.
