Pyxis Extends its Application Studio for Mobile Devices
Single application configuration platform supports BlackBerry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile.
Pyxis Mobile, a provider of innovative wireless applications, is now offering support for iPhone applications. Customers may now configure a single mobile application that runs natively on iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile smartphones. 
Pyxis Mobile’s Application Studio includes data integration, security, monitoring, and native mobile applications in a single, “no code” application design. Channel pros can configure once and deliver compelling applications that leverage camera, GPS, device interface, and other inherent features of iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile devices.
According to Pyxis, the addition of iPhone integration means the company’s custom-configured applications “now run on 88 percent of smartphones sold in North America in 2009.”
Concur, a provider of on-demand Employee Spend management services, unveiled Concur Mobile for iPhone last month at the NBTA Convention in San Diego. The travel and expense application is built on the Pyxis Mobile platform, which enables iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile users to manage their itineraries, conduct in-policy business travel transactions, capture T&E expense data, and approve expense reports from any location.
According to Fred Fredericks, senior director of research and development at Concur, the use of Pyxis Mobile’s platform gives his company the ability to reach almost all of its clients with a single configuration. “Having a fully scalable solution across the three major device platforms is key for Concur as we continue to evolve and grow our mobile strategy,” he says.
