Kaseya Introduces Turnkey Resources for Launching Security, Compliance, and Backup Practices

Called Powered Services 2.0, the “go-to-market-in-a-box” offerings are designed to help MSPs launch lucrative new services faster by sharing proven best practices from more experienced providers. By Rich Freeman

Kaseya has introduced an extensive set of training and enablement resources for its MSP partners.

Officially dubbed Powered Services 2.0 and unveiled during Kaseya’s 2019 Connect IT conference in Las Vegas today, the turnkey “go-to-market-in-a-box” offerings are designed to help channel pros launch security, compliance, and backup service practices more rapidly by sharing proven best practices from more experienced providers.

“MSPs have a challenge with building new businesses just like anyone else,” says Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola, citing compliance management as an example. “I would make an argument that every single MSP in North America should have a HIPAA compliance practice and should be doing hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in HIPAA compliance management in a couple of years, because the market’s that big.” That’s easy to say but harder to execute, he continues. “How do I do it? What’s the offering I build?”

Powered Services 2.0 seeks to help MSPs answer such questions by providing step-by-step service launch guides, sales and marketing playbooks, and other readiness materials, along with white-label sales presentations, email templates, and marketing collateral.

The new program, which replaces an earlier and much smaller Powered Resources offering focused chiefly on Kaseya’s AuthAnvil identity and access management solution, draws heavily on content developed earlier by dark web monitoring and security training vendor ID Agent.

Kaseya announced its acquisition of ID Agent yesterday. Dan Tomaszewski, ID Agent’s vice president of channel success and training, has been quietly working since that transaction closed in January to combine his team’s existing materials with Kaseya’s existing content, produce additional resources, and develop a new portal for all of those assets.

According to Tomaszewski, the resulting program frees MSPs from the trial-and-error method of adding recurring revenue streams in high-growth markets. “You don’t have to go figure it out,” he says. “We’re giving you that already.”

Assistance from ID Agent’s Goal Assist program is included optionally in the new Powered Services packages as well. Rolled out in January, Goal Assist provides sales team training services as well as direct assistance with sales pitches from experienced subject matter experts. “If you need us to hop on a call to help you close that piece of business or articulate it, we’re there to do that,” says ID Agent CEO Kevin Lancaster.

Kaseya charges $499 for a basic Powered Services membership or $899 for a membership that includes four Goal Assist sales calls and two sales coaching and training sessions. Levied one time only, those fees provide ongoing access to what Tomaszewski says will be a continually growing resource library. New playbooks, sales tools, and other items will arrive monthly, along with materials aimed at helping partners capitalize on new and evolving opportunities.

“If the market starts to shift one direction, we’re going to have stuff in there for the MSPs to be able to shift that way,” Tomaszewski says. “We’re going to be going real time with them and giving them new stuff based on the market and where it’s going.”
