Ingram Micro Adds Dropbox Business to its Cloud Marketplace

Partners in the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands can now deploy, configure, and manage the popular file sync and share solution’s enterprise edition through a centralized console, and cross-sell it with other hosted solutions.

Ingram Micro Inc., of Santa Ana, Calif., has expanded its distribution relationship with Dropbox Inc., the San Francisco, Calif.-based file sync and share vendor. Ingram Micro partners in the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands can now buy, provision, configure, and manage Dropbox Business, an enterprise-oriented edition of Dropbox’s solution with enhanced security functionality, through a centralized portal via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace.

The new arrangement enables channel pros to offer end-to-end productivity solutions by cross-selling Dropbox Business with Microsoft Office 365 and other hosted offerings available to Ingram Micro’s channel.

Resellers in Australia and New Zealand will receive access to the same capabilities later this month. In the meantime, they and partners across Europe can resell Dropbox Business licenses outside of Ingram Micro’s cloud marketplace immediately, the distributor announced today.

“We believe Dropbox is one of the most widely adopted collaboration platforms on the market, with unique business-focused capabilities that we expect will deliver significant value to our cloud portfolio and global partner community,” said Renee Bergeron, Ingram Micro’s vice president of global cloud, in a press statement. “Dropbox and Ingram Micro’s strengthened relationship reaffirms our joint commitment to meet the growing demands of channel partners and their customers for secure and controlled file sharing and collaboration environments.”

“Ingram Micro’s impressive commitment to the channel has set the pace for a great partnership and we look forward to driving new business opportunities for our mutual channel partners,” said Dropbox channel chief Hank Humphreys in the same press release. “We’re excited at the ease with which all channel segments, such as MSPs, SIs, VARs, resellers, telcos, and hosters can now access our services through Ingram Micro.”

Today’s announcement comes on the opening day of Ingram Micro’s seventh annual Cloud Summit event, which takes places in Phoenix through Wednesday. Bergeron is scheduled to deliver a keynote tomorrow morning that will undoubtedly offer further details about the company’s enhanced distribution agreement with Dropbox and its recent acquisition of cloud service distributor Ensim Corp.
