CompTIA Communities Gearing up for ChannelCon 2016

The community sessions will focus on sharing best practices and business challenges at the “Breaking Boundaries” event, which also features CompTIA Executive Certificate courses, specialty tracks in sales and leadership, community and council sessions, plus Tracks4Techs.

Seven of CompTIA member communities will host interactive presentations, panel discussions, and break-out sessions at CompTIA ChannelCon 2016, scheduled for August 1 to 3 at the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla. Some of the community sessions at the event, themed “Breaking Boundaries,” will focus on business-related topics such as creating amazing customer experiences and cultivating fans of a managed services business. Tech-focused sessions include security, plus leveraging big data and business intelligence in managed print services.

Sessions topics include: “Is Your Cloud Offering Good Enough?” and “Crowdsourcing Cloud Insights,” featuring interactive discussions and an examination of trends and ideas gathered from CompTIA Cloud Community members.

The session “Creating a Culture that Builds Confidence” will address how women and men can gain the confidence they need to succeed. And “Just Who Are You Anyway?” will examine personality and leadership and provide insights on initiating a successful mentorship and developing strong working relationships with colleagues.

“One of the most important aspects of a CompTIA membership is the opportunity to communicate, collaborate, and be a part of the collective influence within the CompTIA member communities,” says Jim Hamilton, vice president, member communities, CompTIA. “Together, our communities have a successful track record for driving positive change within the IT channel and the technology industry as a whole, and we are excited to have the opportunity to highlight their accomplishments, experiences and expertise at ChannelCon 2016.”

Communities to be featured during ChannelCon include Advancing Women in IT, Cloud, Future Leaders, IT Security, IT Services & Support, Managed Services, and Managed Print Services. Members of CompTIA’s international communities, including the ANZ IT Channel, Canadian IT Business, and UK Channel, will also be on-site during the event.

ChannelCon 2016 will also offer CompTIA Executive Certificate courses, specialty tracks including sales, leadership, and today’s top industry trends; community and council sessions; plus Tracks4Techs. Attendees who are CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, Mobility+, Cloud+ or CASP-certified, will also get CEU credit toward certification renewal by attending these sessions.

Peyton Manning, the five-time NFL Most Valuable Player and a two-time Super Bowl champion, will deliver the conference keynote speech on August 2 titled “How to Become a Champion in Your Own Life.”

ChannelCon 2016’s other keynote presenters include Nir Eyal, best-selling author of Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products; Austin McChord, founder and CEO of Datto, Inc.; and Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO, CompTIA.

Running parallel with ChannelCon, the CompTIA Vendor Summit provides an exclusive selection of education and collaborative sessions tailored specifically for C-level, EVP, and SVP vendor and distributor executives. This two-day event is open to all IT vendors and distributors registered to attend ChannelCon.

CompTIA has approximately 2,000 member companies, 3,000 academic and training partners, 80,000 registered users, and more than two million IT certifications issued.

Registration for ChannelCon 2016 opened on June 8.
