The projector manufacturer announces four new PowerLite projector models, all geared toward the education market with a budget-minded price and extended warranty option for “Brighter Futures” channel program participants.

The projector manufacturer announces four new PowerLite projector models, all geared toward the education market with a budget-minded price and extended warranty option for “Brighter Futures” channel program participants.

VARs looking to provide budget-friendly projectors to school systems heard about four new options from Epson this week. The manufacturer announced out the 92, 93, 95, and 96W models of its PowerLite brand projector. They will officially hit the channel in March.

Epson 'Projects' Education OpportunitiesThe new models replace the current PowerLite 83V, 83, 84, 85 and 826W projectors. According to Epson, the latest generation of PowerLite projectors “offer a more robust built-in speaker, increased brightness, and HDMI digital connectivity.”

The PowerLite 92 (with an MSRP of $649) and 93 (with an MSRP of $699) offer 2,400 lumens of color and white light output. The PowerLite 95 (MSRP: $799) features 2,600 lumens of color and white light output; all three projectors deliver XGA resolution. The PowerLite 96W (MSRP: $899) offers 2,700 lumens color and white light output with WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution

In addition, the PowerLite 93, 95 and 96W feature network connectivity for remote monitoring and controlling of networked Epson projectors. The PowerLite 95 and 96W offer additional network functionality, including the ability to transmit both audio and video content over the IP network as well as through an optional wireless module.

“As multimedia content becomes a standard element of classrooms, explains Epson product manager Sara Kim, “Epson continues to develop products that deliver high-quality images and sound to enhance students’ learning experiences.” She adds, “This series of projectors brings an ideal blend of high performance features and future-ready connectivity to the classroom at a price point that won’t hurt the bottom line.”

Other features of the education-centric PowerLite 92, 93, 95, and 96W models include:

  • Epson 'Projects' Education OpportunitiesIncreased Communication–Internal 16-watt speaker, built-in closed captioning decoder, and microphone unit (95 and 96W models)
  • Improved Connectivity–HDMI digital connectivity, RJ-45 wired LAN connectivity (93, 95, and 96W models), ability to send content over the IP network (95 and 96W models), and optional wireless module (95 and 96W models)
  • Teaching Aids–Pre-designed line and graph pattern templates or customizable images aid in instruction, saving valuable class time by eliminating the need for teachers to draw lines and grids on a whiteboard or blackboard
  • USB Plug ‘n Play–Presentation from either a Windows PC or Mac via a single USB connection
