The 3,000-year-old Solution for MSPs to Help Customers with the Windows 11 Migration

Time is of the essence. Ensure your customers are ready for Windows 11 migration by exploring upgrade paths and financing options before the deadline.

Before we know it, October 14, 2025, will be here. That’s when Windows 10 support ends. Whether your customers are planning the Windows 11 migration now or at the last minute, it’s essential if they want the latest functionality and support.

As of July 15, 2025, Windows 10 turns a decade old. This means some customers may be running software that’s at least 10 years old. Given that three to four years is the recommended time frame for laptops to be refreshed, this Windows 11 migration could be an opportunity for an overdue upgrade.

Many customers don’t know where to start. That’s where an MSP’s expertise and solutions are critical to their success.

That said, you may face a potential roadblock: budget.

The No-nonsense Solution

When the budget challenge arises, introduce your customers to leasing and financing. The ancient Greeks, Sumerians, and Egyptians often turned to leasing and financing to acquire a variety of things, from agricultural tools to livestock.

Consider the same solution when it comes to IT software solutions. Upfront payments often aren’t an option for SMBs. So, leasing and financing can help.

Offer custom, manageable payment options to help customers get what they need instead of what they think is affordable. When customers are less driven by price, they can focus more on making the important strategic decisions that drive their business forward.

How to Incorporate the Solution

Here are three ways you can use financing and leasing to help your customers with the Windows 11 migration:

Option 1: Bundled Solutions

Hardware, software, maintenance, device deployment, and end-of-term return logistics can often be bundled into a payment plan. Ensure that it aligns with your customers’ budgets and business goals.

Option 2: Multiyear Discounts

Upfront payments often don’t make sense for customers. Specifically, they may cut into cash flow, which could impact other parts of their businesses. This is where multiyear discounts come in. Depending on the payment plan, multiyear discounts can lock in software and technology prices that often rise year over year.

Option 3: Flexible, Customized Solutions

Business budgets are unique. Financing and leasing options can be, too. With payment plans that fit your customer’s budget cycles, customers can align their specific goals, such as end-of-term upgrade options.

How to Offer This Solution Now

To quickly get this solution into play, find a financing and leasing partner.

A good finance partner specializes in technology for vendors of all sizes, provides flexible options, and will answer your and your customers’ questions from initial pricing inquiry to contract terms. It could even help plan today for end-of-term options to obtain new software or hardware in the future. Or, in our case, October 14, 2025.
