TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / January 25, 2017 / Data Deposit Box Inc. (“Data Deposit Box”) (CSE: DDB, OTC PINK: DDBXF, Frankfurt: 2DD), a global provider of cloud backup and recovery technology, is proud to announce its new agentless feature for its Smart Storage bare metal recovery technology. This new agentless feature means that there is no longer a need for client side agents or software in order for Data Deposit Box’s Smart Storage solution (which includes 2TB, 4TB, 6TB and 10TB systems) to perform file-based backups, bare metal recovery imaging for servers and workstations, and Microsoft SQL-based backups for any small or medium sized business (“SMB”).
The new agentless feature enhances Data Deposit Box’s Smart Storage solution, which is now one of the first SMB-focused solutions to permit file backup, bare metal recovery, and direct to application program interface backup technology all in one 4-bay system without the need to deploy agents or additional software. With this new agentless feature, the Data Deposit Box Smart Storage now offers:
- Simple and Easy to Use Workstation and Server Imaging – Within minutes of the Smart Storage installation, the partner can begin protecting the SMB critical systems and critical data.
- Flexible Technology – The Smart Storage solution eliminates the partner’s need to visit their client to install end point software on any device within their client’s office. The new agentless technology is non-intrusive and does not require the need to force client side reboots or special client side configuration to perform a backup or recovery of the system.
- Zero Client Side Administration – The need for client side software patching, upgrades or installations that come with agent-based installations is now no longer required.
“Most, if not all, products and appliances on the market that provide imaging or bare metal functionality require the use of a client side agent. This means that the partner or client have to install, update and manage another piece of end point software. With the Smart Storage agentless bare metal imaging option our partners can do a simple and complete image of servers and workstations without having to manually install client side software,” says Tim Jewell, CEO of Data Deposit Box. “We complimented this feature with the ability to execute and manage from any browser. This makes it incredibly easy to backup and recover a company’s critical data and critical systems,” added Jewell.
