Soundmatters Expands Its Portable Soundbar Line with DASHa

The foxL DASHa, optimized for Kindle, is the smallest and thinnest speaker in the DASH7 soundbar line.

Apparently, creating high-quality, portable speakers does take a rocket scientist. Well, at least that’s the case for Soundmatters International Inc., the Reno, Nev.-based company founded by former NASA engineer and audiophile Dr. Godehard Guenther. After creating a number of award-winning speakers in the foxL DASH7 line of slim, portable, hi-fi soundbars, the good doctor and company have now added the foxL DASHa, the smallest and least expensive of the line.

Although the new foxL DASHa √ºber-slim soundbar is optimized for the Kindle HDX and Kindle HD, meaning it doesn’t block your view when watching movies or music videos, it provides the same omnidirectional sound when used with most other tablets, smartphones, laptops, and even guitars.

The DASHa features patented stereo twoofers (tweeters that woof), patented bass battery, and a noise/echo-canceling speakerphone. It charges via micro USB from a standard 5V smartphone or tablet charger (not included) or a USB port.

Another great feature is the price. The DASHa has a minimum advertised price of $149, which is $70 less than the DASH7, and with many of the same features. The “Kindle black” soundbar is sold exclusively on Amazon.

If you’ll be in Las Vegas for CES next week, you can see the DASHa at booth 6223 in North Hall, along with the company’s new platinum-silver DASH7 and DUET foxL subwoofer satellite system.
