Communications provider EarthLink Inc. is offering a FlexCloud Hosting service designed to help SMBs create secure IT environments and optimize server utilization.
FlexCloud Hosting enables SMBs to track and manage computing utilization across business units within a single IT environment. It is designed to address procurement and management issues of an IT infrastructure while “still accommodating the diverse needs of multiple business units,” states EarthLink in a press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB.
Through the service, business units can control their applications via a customer portal while the businesses’ IT team can maintain control and management via the Administrator portal.
“FlexCloud Hosting supports business continuity with data protection, which provides full weekly backups and daily incremental backups to safeguard data,” the press release states. “A Disaster Recovery option mirrors data in a second EarthLink data center for rapid recovery of the full environment to provide higher levels of business continuity protection.”
FlexCloud Hosting features a Data Center Firewall designed to enable SMBs to meet industry security compliance. Clients can create both public and private virtual environments for physical and logical separation with private MPLS or VPN architecture. Managed services also are available to help offload the routine management and maintenance of the virtual machines.
FlexCloud Hosting is designed with N+1 redundancy in a self-healing cloud architecture, automatic server failover, high-availability SAN storage, hosting in geographically diverse SSAE 16 SOC2 certified data centers, on a nationwide private MPLS network.
EarthLink FlexCloud Hosting is powered by Virtustream XStream, and the company’s next generation Cloud infrastructure is powered by Cisco UCS server hardware and Cisco gigabit networking equipment in SSAE 16 SOC2 certified data centers.
