CharTec Introduces a New Appliance for MSPs

Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) and sales training provider CharTec is presenting its new “custom-built” business continuity solution to MSPs this month.

CharTec Introduces a New Appliance for MSPsThe CharTec Backup Disaster Recovery (BDR) appliance is an Intel-based server solution designed to enable managed services providers with a means for deploying backup and disaster recovery as a service.

The BDR appliance installs at the MSP’s client site, which often satisfies their client’s requirement for real-time onsite data protection as well as offsite data continuity. The unit is backed by 24×7, US-based help desk support.

According to CharTec, there are no upfront costs of its solutions, making it possible for channel pros to begin earning revenue immediately. “This is the first and only product available from CharTec open for outright purchase or HaaS to any qualified MSP without a membership requirement,” the company states in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.

The CharTec BDR appliance is remotely managed through a Web-based portal with a remote monitoring management (RMM) agent for alerting and scripting. Virtual lab hours are included in the CharTec BDR appliance to enable technicians to work on servers in the cloud for testing, verification, and validation of offsite data.

The CharTec BDR appliance replicates a client’s production infrastructure through cloud-virtualized backup images, which are tested and verified daily to ensure data is up to date. In the event of a total site loss, data can be quickly restored to ensure maximum uptime.

“We developed the CharTec BDR appliance based on our own MSP experience and our partners’ requests for a simple, reliable system that ensures their clients’ business continuity,” explains CharTec CEO Alex Rogers.
